A field guide to the wild plants of Oman

Nabat Oman documents the wild flora of the Sultanate in Arabic and English, for herders, students, hikers and anyone curious about what grows around them.

Oman's mountains, wadis, deserts and coasts are home to a remarkable variety of wild plants, many of them known by local names passed down over generations.

This guide brings them together: each entry gives the plant's local and scientific names, its family, a description, where it grows, its value as pasture, whether it is edible or toxic, and photographs to help recognise it in the field.
